Managers of Police FC and Kenya Police Bullets have been commended for their exemplary management, leading to significant successes on both the national and regional football stages.
Speaking at a breakfast meeting held at the Ole Sereni Hotel in Nairobi today, Sports Cabinet Secretary Hon. Ababu Namwamba attributed the recent achievements of both clubs to effective management and the dedication of the players. “You have an impressive team management framework. I see in you order, discipline, efficiency, accountability, and transparency,” said Hon. Namwamba.
The event was organized to honor the police footballers following a season of remarkable accomplishments. Police FC clinched the FKF Premier League title and triumphed in the FKF Mozzart BetCup, defeating KCB FC last month. Meanwhile, the Kenya Police Bullets secured the women’s top-flight league title in their debut season.
Hon. Namwamba praised the efforts of Internal Security and National Administration Principal Secretary Dr. Raymond Omollo, who is also the patron of both police clubs, for providing steadfast leadership and support. The Cabinet Secretary highlighted Dr. Omollo’s role in talent spotting, nurturing, and improving the quality of football within the police service and the country.
Dr. Omollo, in his remarks, emphasized the need for financial support to prepare for upcoming regional competitions. He outlined that Police FC requires KES 19 million and Police Bullets KES 24 million to gear up for the Council for East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) and Confederation of African Football (CAF) tournaments. Additionally, he announced that the teams would engage in friendly matches as part of their pre-season activities, with the men’s team set to play against Uganda’s Vipers FC.
Dr. Omollo congratulated the players for their recent victories, attributing these successes to their professionalism and dedication. He expressed confidence in the continued improvement of football standards in Kenya and called upon Hon. Namwamba to arrange a meeting with President William Ruto for the players to discuss the sport’s development and showcase their recent achievements.
The breakfast meeting was attended by Sports Principal Secretary Mr. Peter Tum and senior police officers, underscoring the importance of sports in fostering unity and excellence within the police force and beyond.
