South Sudan government delegation to the Tumaini Initiative for Peace led by Albino Aboug, has dismissed rumors circulating on social media that the ongoing talks in Nairobi will result in the elimination of vice presidents and a reduction in the size of the current Revitalized Transitional National Legislative Assembly.

In a news conference on Friday, following thorough consultation with the presidency, Minister of Information and government rapporteur to the Tumaini peace talks, Michael Makuei Lueth, clarified that the discussions in Nairobi will not affect the structure of the presidency or the parliament.
“Contrary to the unfounded rumors, what is going on in Nairobi will not impact the presidency nor the parliament,” stated Lueth.

The Tumaini Initiative for Peace aims to foster stability and peace in South Sudan, but Lueth emphasized that any changes to the political structure are not on the agenda in the current negotiations. The government reassured the public that the focus remains on achieving sustainable peace without altering the fundamental aspects of the nation’s leadership framework.
