Multi-Agency Team Raids Al-Shabaab Camp in Garissa County, Two Militants Killed

A multi-agency security team conducted a successful raid on a makeshift Al-Shabaab camp in the DigDiga area within Fafi Sub-County, Garissa County, on August 14, 2024. The operation was launched following complaints from local residents about frequent harassment by the militants, who were reportedly planning an attack targeting security officers across the sub-county.

The security forces trailed the militants deep into the DigDiga Forest, where they ambushed the group as they were preparing game meat. In the ensuing confrontation, two militants were killed, while several others fled with serious injuries.

During the operation, the security team made significant recoveries, including AK-47 rifles and ammunition, grenades, radios, indoctrination literature, AAA batteries, animal snares, and jerrycans.

The security forces commended the local community for their cooperation and urged them to continue reporting any suspicious activities related to Al-Shabaab to help ensure the safety and security of the region.
