Chopper that killed Gen. Ogolla crashed due to engine malfunction

President William Ruto on Friday received the report regarding the helicopter crash that occurred in April last year, claiming the life of the Chief of Defense Forces, Gen. Francis Ogolla.

The findings in the report confirm that the helicopter crashed due to an engine malfunction.

Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya presented the report at State House in Nairobi on Friday. Also present were CDF General Charles Kahariri, Vice CDF Lt-General John Omenda, and Kenya Airforce Commander Major-General Fatuma Ahmed.

“Consequently, Kenya Air Force has updated and reviewed its Standard Operating Procedures to avert future occurrence,” read the report.
