Former Kenyan presidential candidate Mohammed Abduba Dida is serving a 7-year sentence in Illinois, United States for stalking and transmitting threats. Dida has been serving his sentence at the Big Muddy Correctional Centre in Illinois since November 18, 2022, after being convicted of stalking and intimidating an unidentified victim. The 49-year-old former teacher was found guilty of two charges, the first for stalking and transmitting threats, which resulted in a two-year sentence. Dr. Jacqueline Okeyo, a lecturer from the Department of Design and Creative Media, is among 15 grant winners of the African Women in Tech and AI.  The top 15 were among 80 female researchers and entrepreneurs selected in a competition that was held in Morocco. The teams from 28 countries in Africa also underwent a three-month training. Eight Kenyans qualified for the 2024 cohort; two of them won grants.   Several people are feared dead following a road accident that occurred at the Kipsitet Area at Koguta along the Nakuru-Muhoroni Highway on Monday. The accident occurred after the Londiani-bound lorry lost control after hitting a porthole before ramming into the 14-seater matatu that was en route to Kisumu.
