Beijing Book Fair

The 2025 Beijing Book Fair officially opened its doors on Thursday at the China International Exhibition Center, showcasing an impressive collection of over 400,000 titles, according to event organizers.

Jointly hosted by the Publishers Association of China and the Books and Periodicals Distribution Association of China, the book fair occupies a sprawling 50,000-square-meter exhibition hall. The space is segmented into specialized sections dedicated to social sciences, technology, children’s literature, and educational publications, offering a comprehensive view of the publishing world.

Marking a significant development, this year’s edition introduces a cultural and creative products zone for the first time. This new addition presents a wide range of book-related merchandise, including stationery and art collections, aiming to attract a broader audience and celebrate the intersection of culture and creativity.

The book fair will also host an array of engaging events throughout its duration. Highlights include a series of interviews with prominent authors, reading promotion campaigns, and more than 400 themed activities designed to foster a love for books and reading. In addition, two key reports—the latest publishing industry report and the annual book retail market report—are set to be released, providing valuable insights into market trends.

Launched in 1987, the Beijing Book Fair has grown into a vital platform for the publication industry, fostering collaboration and innovation. The 2025 event, which runs until Saturday, underscores the fair’s enduring role in promoting literature and the publishing sector in China and beyond.
