Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome has resigned. The Deputy-Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service Douglas Kanja will take over from Koome as the acting IG. Koome's surprise resignation was announced Friday afternoon by State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed in a statement to newsrooms.
