Chief Registrar of the Judiciary, Winfridah Mokaya, made an emotional return to her alma mater, Kipsigis Girls High School, during a thanksgiving ceremony for the outgoing principal and the commissioning of a new water project initiated by the school’s alumni association.
“Returning to Kipsigis Girls High School brings back so many cherished memories!” Mokaya remarked. “During my time here, I not only gained a solid education but also built lifelong friendships and learned valuable life lessons. The guidance of our dedicated teachers and the supportive environment helped shape me into who I am today.”
Expressing deep gratitude, Mokaya extended her heartfelt thanks to the school’s staff and her former classmates, particularly highlighting the impact of her headmistress, Mrs. Esther Tanui. “I am eternally grateful to the amazing staff and my fellow classmates who made my school years unforgettable. Special thanks to all my former teachers and headmistress Mrs. Tanui for their unwavering support and encouragement.”
Addressing the current students, Mokaya encouraged them to seize every opportunity and cherish their time at the school. “To the current students, make the most of every opportunity and cherish these moments. Your time at Kipsigis Girls will lay the foundation for a bright and successful future. Believe in yourselves, work hard, and never give up on your dreams.” She also praised the current Principal, Mrs. Margaret Kirui, for maintaining the school’s high standards.
Mokaya urged fellow alumni to continue supporting the school community. “Fellow alumni, let’s share our stories and continue to support our school community. Together, we can inspire and uplift the next generation.”
The Chief Registrar served as the Chief Guest at the ceremony, which honored the immediate outgoing principal, Mrs. Chumba, and marked the completion and handover of the borehole and commissioning of the school’s water project, a significant initiative by the Kipsigis Girls alumni association.
Also present at the ceremony were the Chairman of the Board of Governors, Mr. Nixon Sigey, Managing Director of KCC, and other members of the PTA. The event celebrated the school’s legacy and future, emphasizing the strong community bonds and continued commitment to excellence in education.
