Eliud Owalo, Deputy Chief of Staff responsible for Performance and Delivery Management in Government, held an early morning meeting today with the Public Service Performance Management Unit, signaling the government’s commitment to enhancing accountability and efficiency across all levels.
The meeting, which was led by the Secretary for Performance Contracting, Joshua Mwiranga, focused on the 5th Administration’s strategy to institutionalize performance management and contracting throughout the government. Owalo emphasized that the administration, under the leadership of President Dr. William Samoei Ruto, is determined to implement these mechanisms down to individual scorecards to ensure that every public servant is held accountable for their results.
“The 5th Administration will strengthen and institutionalize Performance Management and Contracting at all levels of Government, up to the individual scorecard. Accountability for results is imperative,” stated Owalo during the meeting.
This move is part of the broader efforts by the Ruto administration to improve service delivery and ensure that government officials are meeting their targets and contributing to the nation’s development goals. The focus on performance management is expected to lead to more efficient and effective public service, ultimately benefiting the citizens of Kenya.
