Tensions are escalating at Afya House, the Headquarters of the Ministry of Health, as intern doctors plan to #OccupyMoH offices to demand their overdue payments and postings.

The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) has announced that its members will march to the Ministry of Health premises and remain there until all their demands, as outlined in the 2017 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), are met.

The doctors are also calling for the sacking of Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha, accusing her of failing to address their grievances.

The KMPDU insists that the government must honor its pledges, which include timely payment and appropriate posting of intern doctors, to ensure the smooth functioning of the healthcare system. The union’s firm stance suggests a prolonged occupation of the Ministry offices if their demands are not promptly addressed.
