Members of the Isiolo County Assembly have praised President William Ruto for re-appointing Prof. Kithure Kindiki as the Interior Cabinet Secretary. Prof. Kindiki has held this position for about two years, during which he has been recognized for his efforts in reducing cattle rustling and banditry in Isiolo County and other pastoralist regions.

In response to the news, the MCAs expressed their confidence in Prof. Kindiki’s leadership and the positive impact of his work. Deputy Speaker David Lemantile, who represents Oldonyiro Ward, commended the President’s decision, stating that it would restore confidence in the governance of the country.

“Prof. Kindiki has done commendable work in his short stint in the ministry, resulting in a reduction of cases of cattle rustling and banditry in Isiolo County and other pastoralist areas,” Lemantile noted.

Burat Ward Representative Nicholas Lorot called on the President to continue his efforts in developing the country and to consider appointing youth from the Gen-Z group to the remaining cabinet slots. “This would give them hope and a sense of participation in rebuilding the nation, potentially mitigating the ongoing standoff and demonstrations,” Lorot added.

Ngaremara Ward MCA Peter Losu highlighted Prof. Kindiki’s exemplary service delivery compared to other recent cabinet members. He urged the National Assembly to approve Prof. Kindiki’s re-appointment so he could continue his effective work in the security sector.

“Kindiki has been one of the best performers in service delivery, and his re-appointment would ensure the continuation of his good work in enhancing security,” Losu remarked.

The MCAs’ collective support underscores the local government’s recognition of Prof. Kindiki’s contributions to improving security and governance in Isiolo and beyond.
