Kilgoris MP Julius Sunkuli has handed over the first-ever modern chief’s office in Isokon Location, aiming to improve service delivery for local residents. For years, chiefs in Trans Mara South Sub-County operated under difficult conditions, often from their homes, under trees, or in rented, semi-permanent structures.

Sunkuli’s initiative includes the construction of additional offices for chiefs in Kapune and Pusanki locations, as well as a Directorate of Criminal Investigations office in Lolgorian town. These developments seek to enhance access to government services at the grassroots level.

“The chief’s office is essential in providing government services at the community level,” Sunkuli said during the handover. He highlighted that the new offices would eliminate the need for residents to travel long distances to seek services from chiefs.

Trans Mara South Deputy County Commissioner, Muhammed Jubat, hailed the establishment of the office as a historic milestone, noting, “This is the first-ever chief’s office in Trans Mara South since the sub-county’s inception.” Plans to establish a police station in Isokon were also announced to bolster security in the area.

Local chiefs praised the development, with Isokon Chief Daniel Sururu and Kapune Senior Chief Moses Nkiroin calling it a significant improvement to their working conditions and a step toward more professional administration.
