A group of local leaders from Meru County have made a heartfelt appeal to President William Ruto, urging him to consider reinstating Justin Muturi as Attorney General. Speaking at a gathering in Nkubu, Imenti South Subcounty, the leaders emphasized Muturi’s exemplary track record and contributions to the government.
The leaders pointed out that the recent calls for the removal of cabinet secretaries by the GenZs did not target Muturi. They stressed that his performance as Attorney General has been commendable, with no complaints lodged against him. The leaders highlighted Muturi’s previous role as the Speaker of the National Assembly, where he was known for his diligence and dedication.
In their appeal, the leaders underscored the lack of representation from the Mt. Kenya East region in the Kenya Kwanza government following the dismissal of all the cabinet secretaries. They argued that reinstating Muturi would ensure that their region continues to have a voice in the national administration.
“Justin Muturi has always demonstrated a high level of professionalism and commitment in his duties. His track record speaks for itself, and we believe that his reinstatement would be in the best interest of our region and the country at large,” said one of the leaders during the gathering.
The call for Muturi’s reinstatement comes amid a backdrop of political reorganization within President Ruto’s government, as various regions seek to ensure they have adequate representation in key government positions.
The leaders concluded their appeal by expressing confidence in President Ruto’s ability to make decisions that reflect the needs and aspirations of the people, hoping that he would consider their request favorably.
