The highly anticipated Nairobi City Marathon, initially set for this Sunday, July 7, 2024, has been postponed to September 8, 2024, following widespread consultations, evaluation, and introspection. Athletics Kenya President, Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Jackson Tuwei, made the announcement today.
Participants are encouraged to use the extended period for continued registration and training. “This decision was made to ensure the best possible experience for all involved. We encourage all interested participants to take advantage of the additional time to prepare and train for the event,” said Tuwei.
The postponement aims to provide better conditions for the marathon, ensuring it is a successful and memorable event for all runners and spectators. Participants can expect further updates and information from Athletics Kenya in the coming weeks.
