Citi Hoppa, a leading commuter service in Nairobi, has enhanced its transportation solutions by adding 24 new Isuzu NQR buses to its fleet. The buses, named the “G20 Design” in commemoration of the company’s 20th anniversary, represent a significant milestone in Citi Hoppa’s ongoing efforts to modernize its services.
The KSh175 million investment underscores Citi Hoppa’s commitment to providing safe, comfortable, and efficient travel for Nairobi’s commuters. The new 33-seater buses were officially flagged off at TMD Ruaka, where Citi Hoppa’s Operations Director, Githaiga Weru, announced a special offer: one free ride from Kencom Stage in Nairobi’s CBD to various destinations, including Kawangware, Kenyatta, and Ngumo.
“Today’s flag-off demonstrates our pursuit of the highest standards of safety, comfort, and efficiency in our business through our long-standing relationship with Isuzu East Africa,” Mr. Weru stated. “We continue to envision transforming Nairobi City transportation, becoming the benchmark for future transport in Kenya.”
Since its inception in 2004, Citi Hoppa has made substantial strides in public transportation, consistently improving and innovating to better serve Nairobi’s commuters. This latest expansion is a testament to the company’s dedication to excellence and its vision for the future.
Isuzu East Africa’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Mr. Wanjohi Kangangi, highlighted the collaboration with Citi Hoppa as a reflection of Isuzu’s commitment to sustainability and customer satisfaction. “We are proud to be part of Citi Hoppa’s journey in building a sustainable business and attaining their 20-year milestone,” Mr. Kangangi said.
George Wambugu, Managing Director of Thika Motor Dealers (TMD) and Chairman of the Isuzu EA Dealers Council, emphasized the importance of the Isuzu Dealer Network in achieving these milestones. “Today’s achievement is a demonstration of our delivery on the promise that Isuzu makes in enabling it to scale and reach its customers,” he noted.
This expansion not only marks Citi Hoppa’s 20 years of service but also sets the stage for continued growth and innovation in Nairobi’s public transportation sector.
