ODM Bags Four Positions in Ruto’s Cabinet

Four members of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) have been nominated for Cabinet Secretary positions in the Kenya Kwanza government. The nominees are part of President William Ruto’s effort to create a broad-based government.

The ODM members nominated include Wycliffe Oparanya for Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives and MSMEs, Hassan Joho for Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs, James Opiyo Wandayi for Energy and Petroleum, and John Mbadi for the National Treasury and Economic Planning.

In addition to the four ODM nominees, other nominees announced today by President Ruto are: Former Attorney General Justin Muturi for Public Service and Human Capital Development; Dr. Alfred Mutua, moved from Tourism to Labour and Social Protection; Salim Mvurya, former Mining CS, to Investment, Trade and Industry; Kipchumba Murkomen, former Transport Minister, to Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports; Rebecca Miano, initially nominated as Attorney General, now to Tourism and Wildlife; and Stella Soi for Gender, Culture, the Arts, and Heritage

This diverse set of nominees reflects President Ruto’s commitment to inclusivity in his administration.
