President William Ruto held a significant meeting at State House, Nairobi, with leaders from the African Independent Pentecostal Church (AIPC), including 96 bishops led by Presiding Archbishop Samson Muthuri.
The church leaders committed to participating in the proposed multi-sectoral forum aimed at addressing national economic challenges.
During the meeting, President Ruto emphasized the government’s deliberate programs and policies designed to create job and income opportunities for young people. He outlined several key initiatives, including the Affordable Housing Programme, digital jobs, labor migration, and industrialization through county aggregation, industrial parks, and special economic zones.
“The government has deliberate programs and policies to create job and income opportunities for our young people. These include the Affordable Housing Programme, digital jobs, labor migration, and industrialization through county aggregation and industrial parks and special economic zones,” Ruto stated.
President Ruto also highlighted the importance of youth and multi-sectoral forums. He proposed these forums as platforms where young people and other stakeholders can discuss national economic challenges and contribute to solutions.
“The proposed youth and multi-sectoral forums will give the youth and other stakeholders a platform to discuss these and other national economic challenges that face our country,” he added.
The commitment from the African Independent Pentecostal Church leaders to engage in these forums is seen as a positive step towards inclusive dialogue and collaborative efforts to address the pressing economic issues facing Kenya.
