Garissa County, Kenya — In the early hours of today, tragedy struck along the Garissa-Mwingi road near Katumba trading center, as a Nissan UD bus, operated by Al-Mukaram Bus Service Company, collided with a stalled Mercedes Benz trailer, resulting in the death of seven people.
The bus, carrying approximately 50 passengers from Garissa towards Nairobi, was driven by Hassan Bura. Eyewitnesses report that Bura attempted to overtake another vehicle when the bus collided with the trailer ferrying gypsum. The impact of the crash was severe, leaving seven passengers dead and several others injured. Emergency services swiftly responded, transporting the injured to nearby hospitals for urgent medical care.
