Security Guard Vincent Chepkwony Reinstated and Honoured for Heroic Acts During Protests

A security guard, Vincent Chepkwony, stationed at Java House Kimathi Street who got fired for sheltering and shielding members of the public from harm in Java House, along Kimathi Street in Nairobi, during street demonstrations has been reinstated and has subsequently been AWARDED the HIGHEST HONOUR, COMMENDATION and RECOGNITION for a Private Security Officer in Kenya. Vincent Chepkwony, a security guard stationed at Java House on Kimathi Street, Nairobi, who was fired for sheltering and shielding members of the public from harm during the anti-Finance Bill 2024 demonstrations, has been reinstated.

Chepkwony has also been awarded the highest honour, commendation, and recognition for a private security officer in Kenya.

Private Security Regulatory Authority Director General Faizul Mahamed praised Chepkwony for his courage, selfless patriotism, and unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property.

“We commend Mr. Chepkwony for his outstanding service and express our gratitude for his unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property,” Mahamed said.

Recognition of Chepkwony, an employee of Hatari Security, highlights the critical role of private security officers in ensuring public safety.
