Two individuals suspected of child trafficking killed by an enraged mob cornered in the Elukokho area of Butere Sub County, Kakamega County. According to Area Police Commander Julius Kiptoo, the victims, identified as of Somali origin, were part of a group attempting to abduct a class eight pupil from Buluanda Primary School. Kiptoo reported that the swift action of the child who raised an alarm alerted local residents, who swiftly mobilized with crude weapons to confront the traffickers.
