EACC Arrests Five Suspects in Kes. 450 Million Embezzlement At Kenya Prisons

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has today apprehended five of the thirteen suspects implicated in the embezzlement of public funds amounting to Kes. 450,138,000 at the State Department for Correctional Services. The charges relate to fraudulent tenders for the alleged supply of food and rations to various prison stations by seventeen companies associated with the officials during the Financial Years 2016/2017 and 2017/2018. The arrested suspects, who are currently being processed at the EACC Integrity Center Police Station, will be detained at Kilimani Police Station.
