The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has confirmed that the British Army Training Unit Kenya (BATUK) does not fall within its jurisdiction, despite receiving multiple complaints against the military unit. This disclosure comes as the National Assembly’s Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations Committee conducts an inquiry into allegations of misconduct, human rights abuses, and operational irregularities involving BATUK. During a recent meeting, the EACC revealed it had received three reports accusing BATUK personnel of nepotism, corruption, and labor disputes.
