Migori: Two Dead After Gold Mine Wall Collapse in Rongo

Tragedy struck the Kanga area in Rongo Subcounty when a 750-meter wall of the Choppa gold mine collapsed, resulting in the confirmed deaths of two individuals. The incident occurred while 18 miners were working within the mine. Rescue operations were swiftly initiated, leading to the successful extraction of six miners from the debris. Unfortunately, despite these efforts, two miners were pronounced dead. Over ten miners remain trapped in the collapsed mine, with rescue teams working tirelessly to reach them.
