A tragic train derailment in the Duka Moja area of Kajiado West sub-county has resulted in one fatality and left numerous passengers injured on Tuesday morning. The passenger train, owned by Tata Chemicals Limited Magadi, was traveling from Magadi to Kajiado town, carrying over 100 passengers and goods. According to eyewitnesses, the train lost control as it approached a bridge around 8 am, veered off the tracks, and overturned. The accident caused chaos and panic among passengers. Residents of Noonkopir village in Kitengela, Kajiado County, are expressing outrage over escalating insecurity, despite the presence of a recently commissioned police post. Agitated locals report increasing incidents of theft, mugging, robbery, and rape in the middle-class estate.
