M-PESA Foundation unveils plans for ultra-modern maternity unit in Bungoma

The M-PESA foundation will set up a modern maternity unit at Naitiri sub- county hospital in Bungoma County worth 45 million. The unit will consist of antenatal and delivery rooms, post-natal amenities as well as improvements to the newborn unit. The foundations recent health programmes in Bungoma County includes several fistula camps at Webuye County hospital where over 200 women received free treatment and surgeries from the county and beyond. Bungoma Governor Lusaka Launches Massive Mosquito Net Distribution Campaign

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has launched the distribution of 1.27 million treated mosquito nets across the county. The initiative aims to mitigate the effects of malaria, one of the highest killer diseases in Kenya. The five-day distribution exercise began at Makhonge Dispensary in Kamukuywa, Kimilili Constituency, with approximately 143,000 mosquito nets being distributed to benefit over 250,000 residents in Kimilili Sub County.
