A total of 5.64 million prepaid (token) electricity customers have heeded the call to update their meters ahead of the deadline that is set for 31st August, 2024. Kenya Power launched the Update Token Meter Yako Campaign in mid-June 2024, calling on all its prepaid (token) customers to update their meter software for free to continue enjoying access to electricity. Kenya Power has successfully updated 2 million prepaid meters in the last three weeks as part of its Update Token Meter Yako Campaign.
