Trans Nzoia Governor Natembeya Decries Unequal Resource Distribution in Western Kenya

George Natembeya

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has raised serious concerns about the unequal distribution of resources, which he believes has significantly hindered development in Western Kenya.

Governor Natembeya pointed to a recent allocation disparity as a stark example of this inequity. While the Kikuyu constituency received KSh. 1.5 billion for road construction, the entire Western region was allocated only KSh. 200 million for similar projects.

The Governor criticized national leaders from the region, including National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, accusing them of prioritizing their selfish interests over the welfare of the region. Natembeya urged these leaders to advocate more vigorously for equitable resource distribution to ensure the development needs of Western Kenya are met.

“The imbalance in resource allocation is evident and unacceptable. It is the responsibility of our leaders to ensure that our region receives its fair share to foster development and improve the livelihoods of our people,” Governor Natembeya stated.
