Two Jie Warriors Killed by the UPDF

Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) at Kailong Dam, Chamokok Sub County, Abim District, killed two Jie warriors. The operation, executed by the 85 Battalion of the 507 Brigade under the 5 Infantry Division, also resulted in the recovery of stolen items.

The UPDF troops, acting on intelligence, ambushed a group of five Jie warriors who had stolen a bull from Agonga Village in Alekele Sub County. The confrontation led to the killing of two of the warriors, while the remaining three managed to flee.

Recovered items include an AK-47 sub-machine gun (serial number 19522) with three rounds of ammunition, a pair of UPDF digital uniforms, gun oil, and the bull seized by the warriors.

The UPDF commended the local leadership for their collaborative efforts in maintaining security within the sub-region, highlighting the importance of community cooperation in such operations.
