Speaking at Katangi in Yatta Sub-County during the launch of the tarmacking of Katangi-Kithimani road, Governor Ndeti declared that the Wiper party would now assume the role of opposition in national politics.
“We are telling Raila that we respect his decision. As Wiper party members, we contend with your choice. Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka supported you all those years and now we’re saying it is well,” Wavinya declared.
Governor Ndeti emphasized the importance of a strong opposition to check the excesses of the executive. “As Wiper party members, we believe there has to be a strong opposition to check the excesses of the executive. The opposition and the Government are like two irons that sharpen each other.”
She further stressed that the opposition plays a critical role in defending the interests of the citizens. “The opposition is essential for maintaining a balance in governance and ensuring that the needs and rights of the people are protected,” she added.
